The anniversary exhibition "Gustavsbergs Konsthall Revisited" with the Archive of the Future (Framtidsarkivet) in the background.

GUSTAVSBERGS KONSTHALL REVISITED

Participating artists: Anton Alvarez, Bella Rune, John K Raustein, Sanna Lindholm, Sam Jacob and Lionel T Dean.

In 2017 Gustavsbergs Konsthall celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exhibition and a book with the same title. We are of course looking back – but as important, also into the future. The first ten years are merely the start.

As an exhibition venue Gustavsbergs Konsthall has appeared in many different guises: as an ad hoc workshop, a public space, campfire, dream landscape, machine, home and shop window. The gallery constantly houses experiments which give visitors new opportunities for meeting with art crafts. The anniversary exhibition does not just display objects, but also the spaces that art crafts create – and are created in.

The exhibition Gustavsbergs Konsthall Revisited mixes revisits from previous exhibitors with artists showing their work here for the first time. We are pleased to welcome back Anton Alvarez, Bella Rune and John K Raustein, while Sanna Lindholm, Sam Jacob and Lionel T Dean are showing here for the first time.

The Archive of the Future, which will also be presented, is made up of raw materials for tomorrow’s art crafts. All the artists who have exhibited with us in the past have been invited to contribute a small piece of what they are working with at the moment – fragments, waste, raw material or seeds of ideas – that together indicate the diversity of expression that has taken place in Gustavsbergs Konsthall; but that also give us a foretaste of what we have yet to see.

The book Gustavsbergs Konsthall Revisited contains an impressive cavalcade of photos from the exhibitions that the gallery has mounted during the period from 2007 to 2017, followed by specially written articles and lists of exhibitors and exhibitions. The contributing authors are: Lars Göran Karlsson, Sabrina Gschwandtner, Andreas Nobel, Carin Kallenberg and Jenny Leonardz.

Curator: Carin Kallenberg

Exhibition architects: Aron Fidjeland and Jakob Wiklander
Graphic design (book, poster): Lisa Olausson
